Donald Duane Starkweather, 91 of Girard, IL passed away Saturday afternoon, August 6, 2022, at Hallmark Health Care in Carlinville, IL.

Donald was born August 2, 1931, in Carlinville, IL, a son of Leo Wendell and Lula Geraldine (Cooper) Starkweather.

He married Doris (Winner) in 1952 and she passed away in December of 1981, he later married Alice (Brown) December of 1984 and she passed away November 0f 2009. Dons last marriage was to Betty Ella (Martin) May 2010 and Betty passed away November 6, 2020.

Don was an operating engineer out of Local 965 in Springfield specializing in backhoe work. He retired after 35 years of service to the union.

Don was a member of the Western Oaks Baptist Church in Springfield, IL.

He proudly served our country in United States Navy during the Korean War.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris Starkweather, wife, Alice B. Starkweather, wife, Betty Starkweather, brother, Ronald Starkweather, and grandson, Jamie Starkweather.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 10 2022 at Union Chapel Cemetery, rural Girard.

Donald is survived by his son, Bruce Starkweather of Springfield, IL, son, Teddy Lee (Kathy) Starkweather of Chatham, IL, daughter Terry Lynn Szerletich of Auburn, IL, son, Scott (Peggy) Starkweather of Springfield, IL, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, brother, Danny Joe Starkweather of Hettick, IL, several nieces and nephews.
