James W. Young

James W. Young, age 73, of Girard, passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 at 6:50 P.M. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.James was the oldest child born to Killes and Reba (Russell) Young, born September 25, 1934 in Frisbee, Kentucky. They both preceded him in death. As a youth, he attended Virden schools, and later served his country in the AirForce during the Korean Conflict.

James married the former Judy K. Hinckle on March 27, 1958 in Virden, Illinois. He was a foreman at International Vermiculite in Girard, until his retirement. He and Judy attended Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden. Jim loved woodworking, and working with his hands.

James is survived by his wife, Judy, three sons, Mark S. and wife Nancy, of Girard, Martin J. Young of Warren, Illinois, and Monty J. Young and wife Laura, of Girard. Fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchidren survive. Two sisters, Florence Sutton and husband Don, and Darline McElfresh and husband Kenneth, both of Girard, survive. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael J. Young in May of 2006, a great-grandchild, Christian Angel, and a sister, Lois Barnes. Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at 10:00 A.M., at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. The Rev. Brent Williams will officiate. Friends may call on Monday, February 25th, from 4 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Girard Cemetery. Donations Information
