Bonnie Hamilton Bailey



Bonnie Hamilton Bailey, 81, of Carlinville, formerly of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Madison, Wisconsin, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at Carlinville Rehab Center.

She was born March 23, 1927 in Bedford, Iowa, the Daughter of the late John Merl Hamilton and the late Eunice M. Kennedy. She married the late Robert Miller Bailey in Des Moines, Iowa on February 14, 1944.

Bailey graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a freelance journalist for numerous newspapers and magazines. Bonnie taught and consulted at the University of Wisconsin - Madison Business Management Institute for 17 years. Later, she was the Director of Marketing for Musco Lighting in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Bonnie was an avid gardner and garden designer.

Survivors: 4 Children: Susan Martinson (husband Gary) of Bellvue, Colorado, John Bailey (wife Cheryl) of Madison, Wisconsin, Martha "Marty" Hammann (husband Steve) of Carlinville, Illinois, and Andrew Bailey (wife Mary) of San Diago, California. 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren survive. Also surviving is a sister, Neva McLaren (husband Lannes) of Grants Pass, Oregon

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Information
