Obituary of Roger Lee Hatcher

Roger Lee Hatcher, 69 of Girard, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Roger was born February 7, 1948, in Ostrander, Ohio, a son of Richard and Wanda (McIntire) Hatcher. Roger served in the United State Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Betty J. Perry in 1975 in Ostrander, Ohio and she passed away in April 2006. Roger served as the President of Credit Union One in Springfield, IL for several years. He enjoyed NASCAR (Dale Ernhart), fishing and was an avid golfer. Roger was preceded in death by his father, wife and a brother. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden, IL with Rev. James Palakudy as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery, Girard, IL with military rites performed by Elmer E. Vance American Legion Post #386. Roger is survived by his mother, Wanda Hatcher of Ostrander, OH, daughter, Becky Courtney of Girard, IL, daughter, Helen Gordon of Ross, Ohio, daughter, Wendy Hatcher of Texas, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister, Ardella (Bill) Siders of Edinburg, IL. Memorials may be made to Childrens Cancer. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard is in charge of arrangements.
