Louis Wolf Jr passed away on Thursday morning, November 10th at Heritage Health Care in Carlinville. Louis was born on March 9, 1927 in Carlinville to Louis and Bertha (Hacke) Wolf. Louis joined the Navy during World War II and served on a mine sweep ship. Louis married Ruth Opper on July 6, 1947 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville. She preceded him in death on October 22nd of this year. Louis worked as a lineman for MJM, a meter reader for Illinois Power and an electrician for Marty Rogers at Rogers True Value, retiring in 1989. He also farmed during his early married years. He loved keeping a large yard and garden. Once he retired they loved going camping. Louis leaves behind his four children; Sherrill (Leslie) Totsch of Carlinville; Wendy (Rodney) Frankford, of Hettick, Il; Chris Wolf of San Antonio, Tx; and Lisa Wolf of Carlinville. There are five grandchildren; Linda (Keith) Gray of Carlinville; Becky (Butch) Reels of Carlinville; Mark (Nikki) Totsch of Carlinville; Jessica Wolf of Wauconda, Il; and Craig (Kara) Frankford of Carlinville. And there are eleven great-grandchildren; Ezekiel Gray, Cora Anne Gray, Clara Gray, Rex Reels, Kip Reels, Jay Reels, Lana Totsch, Brendan Totsch, Kinna Frankford, Cagney Frankford and Rhett Frankford. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, and 21 great-great nieces and nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Sister-in-law Eileen Mears Morrow; brother-in-law Raymond Mears; brother-in-law Russ Morrow; sister-in-law Eunice Opper Adcock; brother-in-law Fred Opper; brother-in-law Perry Adcock, and one niece Maralee Johnson. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, November 14, 2016, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 15th at 10:00 am at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 117 W. Second South, Carlinville, with Rev. Cliff Woodman officiating. Louis will be buried next to his wife, Ruth at Charity Cemetery, rural Carlinville, with military rites being conducted by American Legion Guy Baird Post 554. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville or Carlinville Area Hospital.
