Obituary of Wanda Lucille Lambert

Wanda Lambert Wanda Lucille Lambert, age 92, of Carlinville passed away Saturday morning October 1, 2016 at the Carlinville Rehab Center in Carlinville, IL. She was born on November 30, 1923 in Bird Township, Carlinville, IL, a daughter of Harlen and Velda (Cole) Shaw. Wanda married Albert Harold Evans in 1946 and he passed away Aug. of 1954. She later married Harold Gilbert Lambert and they divorced. Wanda retired in 1998 from the City of Carlinville Police Department as a Dispatcher after almost 20 years of service. She was a member of the Charity Baptist Church in rural Carlinville. Wanda loved her family, pets and was an avid reader. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and her flower gardens which attracted Cardinals that she loved to watch. Wanda is survived by six daughters, Sandra (Jim) Parsons of Dufur, OR, Cheryl (Danny) Dunham of Port Charlotte, FL, Pam (Ronnie) Freytag of Carlinville, IL, Kristen McDaniels of Carlinville, IL, Shelly Babcock of AL, Audrey (Ray) Wright of Carlinville, IL; son, Bruce (Sharon) Evans of Carlinville, IL; three step-daughters, Sue Ann Costello of Carlinville, IL, Sandy (Karl) Judd of East Alton, IL, Glea (Gary) Bloom of Springfield, IL; step-son, Jerry Lambert of NY; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren, five sisters, Wilma (Bob) Lucker of Bethalto, IL, Juanita Johnson of AR, Willa Jean Jenkins of Cottage Hills, IL, Betty (Charles) Hogle of Moro, IL, Connie (William) Morgan of Alton, IL; brother, Harlen (Rhonda) Shaw of Meadowbrook, IL; She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert Harold Evans, daughter, Patricia Ferguson, step son, Rex Lambert, brothers, Loyd and Eldon Shaw, sisters Donna Keller, Gayle Shaw, Teresa Osborne, a granddaughter, and a great grandson. Funeral Services will take place, Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, with Rev. Cliff Woodman officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 9:00 until the time of service at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Albert Harold Evans in the Carlinville City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Macoupin County TAILS.
