Michael William Schafer, 53 of Carlinville, passed away Monday morning, June 13, 2016, at his residence. Michael was born August 25, 1962, in Biloxi, MS, a son of Harold Eugene and Ann (Goodwin) Schafer. He married Jennifer Beiderwieden on July 22, 2009, in Carlinville, IL. Michael was the owner and operator of Central Core in Carlinville for 10 years. He loved to hunt, fish and bow hunt. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Schafer. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL. Following visitation, funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Bethel Ridge Cemetery, Atwater, IL. Michael is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Carlinville, IL, sons, Michael Schafer II, Mark Schafer, Mason Schafer all of Carlinville, IL, brother, Harold Schafer of KY, brother, Daniel (Vanessa) Schafer of FL, brother, Dennis Schafer of FL, sister, Laurie Schafer of FL, sister, Ariminda Ferguson of NC, brother, Martin (Cassye) Schafer of NC, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Carlinville Public School Foundation. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
