Shirley J. Mikalauski , 80 of Pana, formerly of Standard City, IL passed away Friday afternoon, June 10, 2016, at Heritage Health Care in Pana, IL. Shirley was born April 10, 1936, in Gillespie, IL, a the only daughter of Harry and Florence (Clark) Morgan. Shirley graduated from Gillespie High School and soon married Joseph Mikalauski at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Carlinville, and he passed away March 13, 1996. She retired from Dickey-john in Auburn as an assembler after several years of service. Shirley was a former member of the Ss Mary and Joseph Catholic Church and was an active member until she moved to Pana, IL. She loved her children, grandchildren and enjoyed attending the grandchildren's sporting events. She loved to cook and watch television. When anyone thinks of Shirley they can always see her in the kitchen cooking and baking. She would be covered in flour and her kitchen would have noodles rolled out on every surface. At Christmas time, she would make candy and bake cookies, there would be stacks and stacks of cookies in her kitchen. Christmas was always important to her. She would have a huge family dinner and gift exchange. She loved buying and giving gifts. Shirley would prepare for her family. She had a strawberry patch which the whole family helped in taking care of it. The children and grandchildren would pick, Joe would always maintain the patch and Shirley would always be in the house sorting berries and cooking lunch for everyone. It was a time of year everyone would look forward to and dread all at the same time. Shirley took pride in her children and grandchildren. She would always do what she could to help out or just sit and listen. Her house was always busy and full of love. She will be missed by many, especially the ones closest to her. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Wayne Morgan, daughter, Diana Green and grandson Rhett Rutherford II.
