Obituary of Harold Earl Lutz

Harold Earl Lutz, 69, of Carlinville, passed away Sunday morning, April 24, 2016 at his home in Carlinville, IL. Harold was born on November 14, 1946 to Henry and Norma (Seymour) Lutz in Carlinville, IL. He was later adopted by Cecelia (Rock) Lutz after his mother's passing. He graduated from Mesa High School in Mesa, AZ and continued on to cosmetology school, where he met his future wife, Jeanne Wells. On April 8, 1966 he and Jeanne were married in Deer Valley, AZ and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They lived in Arizona until 1969 before returning back to Illinois. Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He worked for Harmon's IGA in Virden and Carlinville for 20 years as a store manager, and retired from the McFarland Mental Health Center in 2010. He owned and operated Lutz Studio Photography (Carlinville, formerly of Girard) from 1984 to 2010 with his wife Jeanne. Photography was a great passion of his and he was always willing to give advice about it.. Harold is survived by his wife, Jeanne; three daughters, Sheila (Albert) Hammann of Carlinville, IL; Shanon (Bruce) Barnes of Waggoner, IL; Shellie Lutz of Carlinville, IL; six grandsons, Blake (Carissa) Hammann; Bryce (Rachel) Hammann; Brandon Hammann; Colby Barnes; Issac Barnes; and Sean Kolb; four granddaughters, Rebecca Sprinkel; Isabel Barnes; Delanie Childers; and Darcie Childers; two nephews, Kenneth D. (Minnette) Lutz Jr. and Jason (Janey) Lutz; niece, Stephanie (Jeff) Lancaster, many great nieces and nephews, several cousins and his beloved dogs, Jiggy, Ben and Brady. Harold was preceded in death by father, Henry M. Lutz; mother, Norma L. Lutz; step-mother, Cecelia Lutz; and brother, Kenneth Dale Lutz, Sr. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 2, 2016, from to 3:00 to 7:00 pm at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville, IL with a eulogy given by Rev. Kevin Strope at 3:00 pm.. Memorials are suggested to the Macoupin County Animal Shelter or St. Paul United Church of Christ in Carlinville, IL.
