Obituary of Dena (Liay) Rogers

Dena Louise (Liay) Rogers, 47, of Carlinville, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2016 at her residence in Carlinville, IL. Dena was born on July 25, 1968 to Mike and Marlene (Hendricks) Liay in Carlinville, IL. She graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1986 and later received her Associate Degree as a Dental Assistant. Dena worked as an insurance agent for the Gazda Insurance Company in Carlinville. She was a member of the Carlinville United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her children and granddaughter. Dena loved any living animal. Dena is survived by her daughter, Jaclyn Rogers (companion, Justin Hellums) of Carlinville, IL; son, Zach Rogers of Carlinville, IL; granddaughter, Sofia Hellums at home; mother, Marlene Liay of Carlinville; brother, Mike (Kathy) Liay of Tullahoma, TN; two sisters, Debbie Ricchiardi of Carlinville, IL and Janet Hughs of Morton, IL; fiancé, Scott Craig of Carlinville, IL; six nephews, Michael Liay, Geoff Liay, Chris (Leah) Hughs, David (Keri) Hughs, Jason Ricchiardi, John Michael (Mary) Ricchiardi; 1 niece, Stephanie (Rich) Geiger, as well as several great nieces and nephews. Dena was preceded in death by her father, Mike Liay in March 1985 and a brother-in-law, Roger Hughs. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. A memorial service will follow on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:30 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Sabo officiating. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Carlinville.
