Obituary of Rogene Barnstable

Rogene A. "Jean" Barnstable, 80, of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 18, 2015, at her residence in Carlinville, IL.
Jean was born on June 3, 1935, to James E. and Arrie Evelyn (Chism) Trill in Carlinville. She graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1953 and married Ronald "Barney" Barnstable on June 25, 1955. Barney preceded her in death on September 13, 2008.
Jean was a homemaker for much of her life. She also spent twenty years working as a bookkeeper for Midtown Auto Service in Carlinville. Jean was a member of the Macoupin Agricultural Antique Association, Carlinville Rifle and Pistol Club and served in the kitchen during the festival days at the Anderson Mansion. She was a lifetime member of the NRA and loved to shoot pistols. Along with target shooting, Jean enjoyed working around her home, gardening, playing piano and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Linda L. (Eddie) Wilson of Carlinville; son, Jerry (Sheri) Barnstable of Decatur, IL; son, Mark Barnstable of Carlinville; daughter, Julie (Brian) Clevenger of Springfield, IL; 9 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 1 step great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Carol Barnstable of Springfield, IL, as well as two cousins, Gloria Travers and Marilyn Holloway.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2015, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 10:00 am at the funeral home in Carlinville with Rev. Kevin Strope officiating.
Burial will follow in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Macoupin Agricultural Antique Association.
