Obituary of Rosina Margaret Kasten

Rosina Margaret Kasten Rosina Margaret Kasten, age 74, of Carlinville, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at 12:15 P.M. at Carlinville Rehab Center. She was born April 29, 1934 in Carlinville, the fourth child of the late Joseph Bomkamp and the late Regina M. Schaefer. She attended Carlinville schools, graduating from Carlinville High School in 1952. Rosina married Dale Kasten on June 2, 1956 in Carlinville. While her daughters were in grade school, she worked as a clerk at the downtown Sullivans Drug Store. Later, she was the assistant librarian for the Carlinville School District, helping students for more than twenty years. Rosina also worked as a salesperson for Kasten-Goodman Agency in Carlinville for twenty-eight years, retiring in 2005. Her love of life was being with family. She was an active member of SsMary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville, teaching Religious Education for many years, and helping whenever and wherever she was needed. She also loved playing golf and working with her flowers. Rosina is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dale, three daughters, Debra McNamara (husband Raymond), of Southlake, Texas, Maureen Oswald (husband Peter), of Carlinville, and Arleen Haselhorst (husband Jeff), of Nobesville, Indiana. Ten grandchildren, Joshua & Brittany McNamara, Jacob & Jill Steward, Quinn, Zachary, & Austin Haselhorst, Jessica, Peter, & Sam Oswald survive. Five brothers survive, William Bomkamp (wife Maxine) of Gillespie, Richard Bomkamp (wife Cathy) of Victoria, Texas, Leonard Bomkamp (wife Dorothy) of Carlinville, and Norman (wife Judy) of Lacey, Washington. Two sisters survive, Rita Cerar (husband George) of Athens, Illinois, and JoAnn Richey (husband Earl) of Medora, Illinois. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Information Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 31st at 10:00 A.M. at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville. Rev. Tom Donovan will officiate. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery, in rural Carlinville. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church. A Prayer Service will be held at 3:30 P.M. at the church. Donations Information Memorials for Rosina are suggested to either Carlinville Area Hospital Building Fund, Ss Mary & Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, or Carlinville Food Pantry.
